
President Welcomes UAE Delegation
President Joseph Aoun welcomed a delegation from the United Arab Emirates that came to Lebanon to understand the country’s current needs. This visit follows the results of the recent Lebanese Emirati summit.
The President said:
“Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s interest in supporting Lebanon shows the deep brotherhood between our countries and people. The UAE delegation’s presence in Beirut is a clear sign of this growing relationship, and the Lebanese people are grateful for it.”
Visit to the Port of Beirut

Public Works and Transport Minister Fayez Rasamni toured the Port of Beirut with the Emirati delegation, led by Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange.
Minister Rasamni said:
“We need to rebuild citizens’ trust in their country. The UAE has always felt like our second home. During Lebanon’s toughest times, many of our people had to leave. Now, with a fresh start, we’ll work to bring them back.”
The head of the Emirati delegation added:
“The Lebanese people want to see their country return to its important regional role. The President of the UAE is committed to giving Lebanon all the support it needs.”
Airport Tour Highlights
The Emirati team also visited the Aviation Safety Center at Rafic Hariri International Airport. This was the first stop of their field tour, which included:
- UAE government officials from the GEEO (Government Exchange Office)
- Ministry of Cabinet Affairs
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
- UAE Mission in Beirut
- Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD)
Lebanese officials who joined the tour included:
- Presidential advisor Dr. Rouaa Harati
- Civil Aviation Director General Amin Jaber
- Airport Director Ibrahim Abou Aliwi
- Airport Security Chief Brig. Gen. Fadi Al-Kfoury
- Various administrative and technical heads at the airport
The day ended with a dinner at the Grand Serail , attended by Cabinet Secretary General Mahmoud Makkiyah and several political, media, diplomatic, and business figures.
The guests also toured a cultural museum, where they learned about Lebanon’s rich history, viewed antique objects and historical writings, and enjoyed a traditional Dabkeh dance performance.
This visit by the UAE delegation is more than just symbolic, it’s a promising sign of renewed regional cooperation and growing trust in Lebanon’s future. The shared commitment to progress may open new doors for investment, stability, and hope.
