Gulf Doors Reopen for Lebanon
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun visited Kuwait in what officials called a very important moment. This visit was part of Aoun’s fourth Gulf tour, aiming to improve Lebanon’s relationships with Gulf countries. The summit in Kuwait happened just before a historic event in Saudi Arabia , a visit by U.S. President Donald Trump. Like in 2017, Trump again chose Riyadh as the first stop of his new presidential term. This shows how important Saudi Arabia is in the region.
Officials say that President Aoun’s efforts are focused on rebuilding Lebanon’s ties with Gulf countries. This is crucial for Lebanon’s financial and economic recovery. Lebanon cannot get out of its crisis alone. It needs support from Gulf nations to revive investments and business.

U.S.-Saudi-Gulf Summit in Riyadh
At the same time, a major U.S.-Saudi Gulf summit is taking place in Riyadh. There are tensions between the U.S. and Israel on three major issues: Yemen, Iran, and Hamas. Still, Trump’s visit shows that the U.S. is open to a major regional deal. This highlights Saudi Arabia’s key role in shaping the Middle East’s future not Tel Aviv, but Riyadh will now lead the region’s diplomacy.
President Aoun stressed the importance of stronger ties with Kuwait, saying Lebanon will always stand with its Arab brothers. He welcomed Kuwait’s decision to raise its diplomatic presence in Lebanon.
Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also supported closer Gulf-Lebanon ties. He praised the security cooperation between the two countries, especially their joint efforts to fight drug trafficking
