The White House announced that Donald Trump has successfully facilitated the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, following the declaration of a two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran.
Speaking on Wednesday, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that the military campaign, described as “epic rage,” achieved its objectives over a 38-day period. She added that the U.S. military’s actions strengthened Washington’s position during complex negotiations that ultimately led to a diplomatic breakthrough.
Leavitt emphasized that the outcome demonstrates Trump’s ability to advance U.S. interests while pursuing stability, urging observers not to underestimate his role in securing both strategic and political gains.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that the United States and Iran have agreed to a comprehensive ceasefire “across all fronts,” including Lebanon, following mediation efforts led by Pakistan. The conflict, which began on February 28, has now been paused with immediate effect.
In a statement posted on X, Sharif announced that both sides, along with their respective allies, had committed to halting hostilities and would send delegations to Islamabad on Friday to continue negotiations toward a permanent resolution.
He praised both parties for demonstrating restraint and constructive engagement, expressing hope that the upcoming talks would pave the way for lasting peace and regional stability.
Additional reports from Israeli outlet Ynet indicated that the ceasefire agreement is expected to extend to Lebanon. Meanwhile, CNN reported that the Trump administration is preparing for direct talks with Iran, potentially involving Vice President JD Vance as part of the next phase of negotiations.
