
The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, hosted a significant meeting with a delegation of associations and prominent figures from Beirut. The delegation was led by Ahmed Hashimyeh, President of the Beirut Association for Social Development, and included Mohieddin Kachli, President of the Beirut Families Union, along with a number of influential figures from Beirut’s economic and medical sectors. This meeting underscored the city’s ongoing concerns, as the representatives voiced urgent issues facing Beirut.
The discussions primarily centered around the challenges stemming from the current state of population displacement in Beirut, which has placed mounting pressure on local communities. There was a shared emphasis on the critical need to address these challenges, with a particular focus on ensuring the security and safety of residents, as well as improving essential public services. The attendees highlighted the importance of adopting comprehensive, long-term solutions to enhance stability and improve the quality of life for Beirut’s citizens.
