The Lebanese Football Association (LFA) has announced that all football matches in its affiliated tournaments will resume early next year. The decision comes just days after a ceasefire was declared between Israel and Hezbollah.
In September, the LFA had suspended all soccer matches following heightened tensions, including Israeli strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and Hezbollah’s retaliation against military facilities in northern Israel.
The ceasefire, which took effect on Wednesday, was reached through a US- and France-brokered agreement, signaling a temporary de-escalation of the conflict.
