Preparations are now complete for Lebanon’s official high school exams across all four branches. The exams started today and will continue for five days, with 42,728 candidates distributed across 229 official exam centers.
Extra Measures in the South
Due to ongoing security concerns in southern towns and damaged villages, the Ministry of Education implemented special logistics. More than 5,000 candidates in the South have been relocated to safer and closer centers. A Plan B has also been put in place in case of any emergency disruptions.
Centralized Communication & Monitoring
In a press conference yesterday, the Ministry stressed that a direct communication line has been established between the education operations room and all secondary schools and concerned authorities. All exam centers are now in constant contact with designated officials to ensure real-time coordination.
Randomized Question Selection
This year, the ministry adopted a random selection model for exam questions, rather than distributing identical full sets. The goal is to eliminate cheating attempts and protect the integrity of the exams.
Strict new rules ban both students and supervisors from using mobile phones or smartwatches during exams. Only the head of each exam center is allowed to carry a phone strictly for contacting the operations room if needed.
Security Under Full Military Supervision
All exam centers are now under the watch of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, who have full authority to prevent any leaks. Sophisticated tracking technology allows authorities to trace any signal or image leak back to its source even up to 12 hours later, and within a range of several kilometers.
The official exams are being held under unprecedented conditions and enhanced surveillance. The ministry promises this year’s exams will mark a turning point in fighting fraud, leaks, and organized cheating.
