Football fans around the world, especially followers of African football, are eagerly anticipating the 2025 CAF Awards, taking place this Wednesday. Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the ceremony will celebrate the continent’s top performers of the year.
The event will be hosted at Mohammed VI University in Rabat, where an array of awards will be presented to standout players, coaches, clubs, and national teams from across Africa, recognizing their achievements throughout the year as 2025 draws to a close.
During the ceremony, CAF will announce the winners of major categories such as Men’s Player of the Year, Women’s Player of the Year, Best Men’s Team Coach, Best Women’s Team Coach, Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year, and Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
Additional honors will spotlight the Best Player and Best Female Player in African club competitions, the Best Young Male and Female Player, as well as the Best Men’s and Women’s National Teams, and the Best Men’s and Women’s Clubs.
All eyes, however, are on the highly coveted African Player of the Year award. This year’s finalists include Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s top scorer; Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain; and Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, currently shining with Galatasaray.
