Mbappé Scores Four as Real Madrid Edge Olympiacos 4–3 in a Champions League Thriller

Kylian Mbappé delivered a spectacular performance on Wednesday, scoring four goals — including the second-fastest hat-trick in UEFA Champions League history — to lead Real Madrid to a dramatic 4–3 victory over Olympiacos in Greece.

Mbappé needed just six minutes and 42 seconds to complete his hat-trick, but despite his heroics, Real Madrid faced fierce resistance from the Greek side. The win marks Real’s first-ever victory at Olympiacos’ home ground after four previous failed attempts, and it ends a run of three matches without a win in all competitions.

Olympiacos struck first in the 8th minute through Tchikineos, but Real responded quickly. In the 22nd minute, Mbappé dribbled past two defenders and scored from a Vinícius Júnior assist. Two minutes later, he headed in his second from an Arda Güler cross, and before Olympiacos could regroup, the French star completed his hat-trick with another brilliant finish.

Real dominated much of the first half, with Aurélien Tchouaméni rattling the woodwork with a powerful strike.

Olympiacos reduced the deficit early in the second half when Mehdi Taremi scored from close range, but Mbappé restored Real’s two-goal cushion after another assist from Vinícius.

Ayoub El Kaabi then made it 4–3 with a header in the 81st minute, putting Real under immense pressure as Olympiacos pushed hard for an equalizer. Both El Kaabi and Gabriel Strefezza came close, but Real’s defense held firm.

Olympiacos now sit in 33rd place with two points, while Real Madrid climb to fifth place with 12 points from five matches in the league phase. Three rounds remain before the top eight teams advance directly to the next stage.
