French Surgeon Admits to Most Sexual Abuse Charges in Historic Child Abuse Case

In an era where childhood is metaphorically violated, its literal violation carries an even greater impact. Recently, there has been a surge in scandals involving child abuse cases, whether it’s the case of American singer Diddy or businessman Jeffrey Epstein.

Now, French surgeon Joel Le Scouarnec has admitted to committing most of the sexual abuse charges against him, involving 299 patients, in what is believed to be the largest child abuse case in French history.

Trial of Joël Le Scouarnec Begins, Could Face 20-Year Sentence

The trial commenced on Monday at the Criminal Court of Brittany’s Morbihan region and is expected to last four months. If found guilty, Le Scouarnec could face a maximum sentence of 20 years. The case came to light in 2017 when a six-year-old girl accused him of rape.

Le Scouarnec Accused of 111 Rapes and 189 Sexual Assaults, Youngest Victim Just One Year Old

Le Scouarnec, aged 74, is accused of 111 rapes and 189 sexual assaults, with the majority of his victims being under the age of 15, including a one-year-old. These crimes were committed during or after general anesthesia between 1989 and 2014.

Following this accusation, police searched Le Scouarnec’s home and discovered journals detailing the names, ages, addresses, and types of abuse inflicted on his victims. They also found 300,000 photos and videos depicting child sexual abuse, along with a note he had written: “I am a pedophile and I always will be.”

Protests Demand Harsh Punishment for Joël Le Scouarnec

Many people are protesting across France, asking for the toughest punishment for Joël Le Scouarnec. They are gathering outside the courthouse, demanding justice for the victims, most of whom were children. The protesters want the court to give him the maximum sentence of 20 years. They believe this will help prevent future crimes and bring some peace to the victims and their families. This case has made many people very angry and they want to see strong action taken.
