Lebanon Bans New Captain America Movie Over Israeli Actress
Lebanon has banned (Captain America: Brave New World) due to the casting of Israeli actress Shira Haas, who plays Sabra, an Israeli superhero and Mossad agent.
After the casting was announced, pro-Palestine activists called for a boycott, leading to the ban. The Lebanese Ministry of Economy confirmed the decision after consulting with the country’s boycott office.
Lebanon previously banned Wonder Woman in 2016 for a similar reason.
The movie has received mixed reviews, with a 6.1/10 rating on IMDb and 49% on Rotten Tomatoes. One viewer said, “The best part was when I left.”
