New Security And Military Appointments Finalized In Lebanon
The Lebanese Cabinet concluded its session today by approving several key security and military appointments. These include:
- Brigadier General Rudolph Haikal as the new Army Commander.
- Brigadier General Hassan Choucair as the Director General of General Security.
- Brigadier General Edgar Lawandos as the Director General of State Security.
- Brigadier General Raed Abdallah as the Director General of the Internal Security Forces.

Minister Of Information:
The appointments, according to the Minister of Information, were made with a strong emphasis on expertise, competence, and strict adherence to standards and qualifications. Morcos added that the Cabinet is committed to maintaining a high level of precision and care in its decision-making.
Additionally, the Cabinet has approved a plan to enlist 4,500 soldiers into the army in three phases.
A special Cabinet session has been scheduled for next Monday at the Baabda Palace to discuss the mechanism for administrative appointments. This demonstrates the Cabinet’s ongoing efforts to refine and enhance governance processes.
