Addressing the gathering, former Minister Faisal Karami, son of former Prime Minister Omar Karami, paid tribute to the late statesman and stressed the importance of remaining faithful to the principles he championed throughout his life.
Karami stated that genuine loyalty to Rashid Karami’s legacy lies in upholding the rule of law, strengthening state institutions, and ensuring justice for all citizens.
Renewed Call for Retrial in Assassination Case
During his speech, Faisal Karami reiterated his commitment to pursuing a legal and institutional path aimed at reopening the case related to Rashid Karami’s assassination and seeking the return of those responsible to prison through judicial procedures.
He emphasized that the objective is not revenge, but rather the pursuit of justice and accountability, describing it as a right owed to both the Lebanese people and the nation.

Karami also reaffirmed his support for the Taif Agreement, describing it as a cornerstone for preserving Lebanon’s unity and maintaining institutional stability.
